President's Message - December 2015

There are not many things that I am sure of, but I do know the club will be in good hands come 2016. I am excited about the new Board and know it’s going to be a wonderful year. These last two years with the BACLV have been very rewarding for me, and I hope you have had fun too. Lots of changes have occurred with the help of many members that always chip in and new blood too. Thank you to everyone that has helped and made this a truly blessed experience.

Now, I will move on to cars and projects. Bill Wellbaum has been really cranking things up on his herd, and I should too. By the time you read this, you will know if I was successful in getting some cars road worthy. My plan is to wrap up some things like exhaust work on the TR6 to take it to Temecula. The muffler showed up the other day and so did the cylinder head for the GT6. My old one was discovered cracked during a routine valve job. After some time, and about $540, I sourced a used head and had it gone through. I hope after I get it running again, I will pull the noisy transmission out of it and drop in one I rebuilt some time ago. After that, drive it and see if I want to keep it or sell it. I have to do these things anyways to get the right price, but I may fall in Love with the car again if I fix this sciatic nerve thing. The GT6 is so much harder to get out of than the TR6. I was looking at another TR6 the same color as mine the other day. I thought maybe I would drop my hard top on it and just keep it there, but the GT6 needs to be settled first.

All this work has been easier since I left my dealership job and the good tools came home. It would be easier if I find a lift at SEMA next week for bargain price. We will see what the future will bring.
