Sunday the 10th of September turned out to be a beautiful day following two days of rain. We had hoped that this event would not have to be canceled and our hope was granted by the weather God’s.
The cars arrive at the Grill Room at Mountain Falls in Pahrump, NV. at 11:00am. The show cars were parked on the golf course grass to be judged by the Grill Room personnel.
The dinning room was ready in very unexpected way. Pam Sager, the event coordinator, had pulled out all the stops for this event. The tables had white table cloths with red and blue napkins to keep with the British theme. Center piece attractions were added to complete the decorations. Very patriotic as well as quite British for the British Auto Club of Las Vegas.
Members ordered from the Grill Room’s special lunch menu. This was a huge success compared to the previous buffet set up of the past. Folks could choose what they wanted from a menu rather than take what was offered with a buffet.
Awards were given to the three placings of the show as well as the persons who signed up first and last.
This year we had the largest number of members sign up, 35, and the largest number of cars shown, 15. The break down is as follows : 4 Triumphs, 4 Austin Healeys, 3 Jaguars, 2 MGs and 1 Lotus Elise. The event ended around 12:30. At which time the Host and Jim Shope made a quick exit in order to go to the Austin Healey week in Monterey California. The rest of the folks caravaned back to Las Vegas happy they had been part of this memorable annual event again
